How it works

1. We gather agency records. Stocking data is pulled directly from each state wildlife agency's own published systems — no estimating, no filling in gaps.
2. We normalize it. Records are standardized by water, species and season so they're easy to search, with the original agency source kept for every row — we never fabricate a date, a fish count, or a size.
3. You find where to fish. Search by location, species, or ZIP, review a water's full stocking history, then check the source agency before you go.

StockedSpots is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources (KDFWR), New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP), Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), New Hampshire Fish and Game Department (NHFG), California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD), Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW), Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG), Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR), Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR), Wyoming Game & Fish Department (WGFD), North Dakota Game & Fish Department (NDGF) & Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks (KDWP) or any other wildlife agency. A stocking record reflects what an agency reported at the time — it isn't a live population count, and it isn't a guarantee that fish are still present, of legal size, or safe to keep. Always check current regulations directly with the agency before you fish.
